Shelli Stephens-Stidham, M.P.A., is a Senior Program Consultant at the Safe States Alliance and is located in Dallas, Texas. Shelli joined Safe States in July 2020 after serving as the Director of the Injury Prevention Center of Greater Dallas (IP)C) where she was responsible for leading the implementation and evaluation of community-based primary prevention strategies to decrease injuries and violence. Prior to her time with the IPC, she served in various capacities with the injury program at the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

 

Ms. Stephens-Stidham is the past-president of the Safe States Alliance, past chair of the Injury Control and Emergency Health Services Section of the American Public Health Association, and past chair of the Texas Governor’s EMS & Trauma Advisory Council (GETAC) Injury Prevention and Public Education Committee. She served as co-chair of the National Training Initiative for Injury and Violence Prevention (NTI) and served on the committee that developed core competencies for injury and violence prevention professionals. She is also a member of the External Advisory Committee for the University of North Carolina Injury Prevention Research Center and the National Coordinated Child Safety Initiative Steering Committee, and American Public Health Association. She is also a co-founder of the Texas Injury Prevention Leadership Collaborative.
