This four-hour formation program for physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners offers an introduction to clinician formation programs, mission and ministry, forming meaningful mentoring/collegial relationships, and leadership self-assessment tools. It also features a practicum in how to gain the maximum benefit from peer relationships. Dinner will be served.
  

Objectives:
By participating in this activity, participants will have the opportunity to:
1. Meet with colleagues to deepen clinicians’ sense of mission, ministry and community
2. Enhance self-awareness of personal style and leadership competencies for the practice of medicine and for the future of healthcare
3. Increase awareness of how to embed formation and development into daily work to build relationships, community and opportunities for personal growth
4. Experience a practicum to build supportive relationships,
communications, interactions with colleagues, and skills of dialogue, listening and mentoring
5. Build or restore meaning, purpose and passion for the practice of medicine

Dr. Jennifer Stanley, a Family Physician practicing in North Vernon, IN, with the Ascension Medical Group – Indiana, has become Physician Formation Leader for Indiana. Dr. Stanley has participated in the Doc2Doc Mentor Training Program and also completed her Certificate in Reflective Practices through St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana.

Jane Sweeney, MSM, MAHCM, BSN, is the Director of Ministry Formation for Ascension St. Vincent. She has worked closely with Dr. Stanley in creating and facilitating formation programming for physicians and advanced practice providers, and enjoys the opportunity to closely interact with our clinicians.

This course provides support and care for those serving others.

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 4  IPCE credits for learning and change.
