The course will explore sex and gender specific issues with focus on unique features of heart disease in female population. Cardio obstetrics ailments to include heart disease in pregnancy, pulmonary embolism, traditional and non-traditional risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women of all ages and new horizons in diagnosis and management of female specific cardiovascular disease.

1. Develop risk stratifications for cardiovascular health in women model.
2. Address nontraditional cardiovascular risk factors in women.
3. Manage cardio obstetric risk factors in female population.
4. Treat cardiovascular states in female population with attention to nontraditional risk factors
5. Improve understanding of traditional and nontraditional risk factors for coronary artery disease in women of all ages with a focus on gender disparities
6. Apply best practices in screening women for heart disease and managing women with heart disease
7. Improve cardiac care for women in the state of Michigan with the goal to close gaps in care with the most up-to-date evidence-based literature

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 4.00 IPCE credits for learning and change.
