Program designed to provide education to medical residents pursuant to completing educational milestones under ACGME requirements. Helps participants gain experience in understanding and applying ethical principles to help navigate complex medical cases. Will utilize case studies to explore ethical dimensions of caregiving.

1. Identify ethical principles that relate to a case involving moral distress and withdrawal of treatment.
2. Apply applicable policies that relate to the case presented.
3. Apply appropriate Ethical and Religious Directives that relate to the case presented.
4. Explore the vocation of the resident physician through the lens of a challenging case and moral distress when withdrawal of treatment is clinically indicated, but competes with the patient's end of life goals.

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1.00 IPCE credits for learning and change.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected]
