A comprehensive program designed to equip primary care teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively address obesity as a chronic disease. Our program covers a range of topics, including the gastrointestinal effects of GLP1s, hormonal causes of obesity, and advanced concepts in GLP1 therapy. Additionally, we delve into lifestyle and exercise management strategies, bariatric procedures, and counseling techniques. Participants will learn evidence-based approaches for evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of obesity, tailored to clinical settings. Special focus is placed on empowering healthcare providers to initiate conversations about obesity, offer appropriate pharmacotherapy, and support patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes. This program is suitable for physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers committed to improving outcomes for patients with obesity.

1. Identify the psychosocial obstacles/barriers in the care and treatment of bariatric patients.
2. Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions to address emotional eating, binge eating disorder, and other psychological factors impacting bariatric surgery outcomes.
3. Collaborate with psychologists and mental health professionals to develop comprehensive pre- and post-surgery psychosocial assessments and support plans for bariatric patients.

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1.00 IPCE credits for learning and change.
