Program designed to provide education to medical residents pursuant to completing educational milestones under ACGME requirements. Helps participants gain experience in understanding and applying ethical principles to help navigate complex medical cases. Will utilize case studies to explore ethical dimensions of caregiving.

1. Engage in a case-based discussion of complex cases with specific attention to the ethical dimensions of care involved in the case
2. Apply Ascension's Clinical Ethics Deliberation Process to complex cases.
3. Understand the significance of and apply the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services (ERDs) within their role as a physician in Ascension.
4. Apply key learnings to the achievement of ACGME Milestones in Professionalism and Goals of Care.
5. Understand the clinical and ethical dimensions of decision-making capacity and informed consent and apply them to a case-based scenario

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1.00 IPCE credits for learning and change.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected]
