Primary Care Physicians (PCP) are faced with various clinical scenarios on a daily basis, and Hematology-Oncology patients commonly present with multi-system dysfunction that require multi- disciplinary care. Several of these can be managed by a methodical approach. The morning session of this symposium addresses common clinical issues presenting in primary care clinic. The afternoon session will address select high yield clinical challenges and with discussion on state-of-the-art approach with evidence-based guidelines.

Location DCMC Pat Hayes Education and Conference Center - Signe Auditorium

1. Present a systematic and evidence-based approach to common hematological presentations in general pediatric practice.
2. Highlight common clinical presentations suggestive of underlying malignancy in pediatric patients
3. Discuss common issues faced by general pediatricians as it relates to child abuse.
4. Discuss common oncologic emergencies with an approach for appropriate management and referral.
5. Discuss multi-disciplinary management of pain and symptoms in complex pediatric patients
6. Evidence based prompt clinical recognition and management of life-threatening HLH
7. Discuss treatment strategies for Vascular anomalies in pediatrics
8. Discuss considerations and strategies for fertility preservation in pediatric patients

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 5.75 IPCE credits for learning and change.
