Overview
It is expected that participating clinicians will report greater confidence in their approach to opioid prescribing and utilization of alternative pain management treatments. Participants will be able to describe how they will change their behavior and apply the newly acquired strategies to their practice (competence).


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify appropriate non pharmacologic treatments for specific pain diagnoses
  2. Identify appropriate use of opioid and non-opioid medications for specific pain diagnoses
  3. Understand current Indiana state opioid prescribing guidelines for both acute and chronic pain, including documentation requirements
  4. Become familiar with recognition and treatment strategies of opioid addiction

Accreditation
Ascension is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the Healthcare team.

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 2.00 IPCE credits for learning and change.
