Overview

Automated dispensing machines are designed to improve medication delivery and accountability while safeguard against medication error.  This presentation is designed to improve the role of pharmacy technicians in their interactions with automated dispensing machines.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Provide background of Medication Errors
  2. Evaluate common paradigms associated with identifying and reporting Medication Errors
  3. Discuss the interaction between Pharmacy Technicians and Automated Dispensing Machines in reducing Medication Errors
