Overview
The Medical University of South Carolina's (MUSC) Telehealth Center of Excellence will provide a special Grand Rounds lecture on equity of care delivery in telehealth. This lecture is provided by Dr. Kathryn King, the Medical Director for School Based Health, Associate Executive Medical Director for the Center for Telehealth and Associate Program Director for the National Telehealth Center of Excellence at MUSC and Dr. Dee Ford, a Professor of Medicine and Division Director for MUSC’s Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine. She established and serves as the Medical Director of the Tele-ICU and ICU Innovations Critical Care Outreach programs.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the breadth of telehealth and how it is applied in various settings to alleviate health care access disparities
  2. Articulate how telehealth programs may unintentionally exacerbate health care disparities
  3. Discuss health access inequalities and how they relate to telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic

Accreditation
Ascension is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the Healthcare team.
