Advances in care have emerged in the literature in the recent years which pose an opportunity to standardize an optimized bundle for management. This educational session will familiarize the learner with these updated best practices and prepare them to provide evidence-based care to these patients.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Differentiate complicated from uncomplicated bacteremia
  2. Select evidence-based treatment durations
  3. Determine when to order follow-up blood cultures
  4. Identify opportunities for antimicrobial dose optimization and conversion from intravenous to oral therapy

Accreditation
Ascension is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the Healthcare team.
