The course will explore sex and gender specific issues with focus on unique features of heart disease in female population. Cardio obstetrics ailments to include heart disease in pregnancy, pulmonary embolism, traditional and non-traditional risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women of all ages and new horizons in diagnosis and management of female specific cardiovascular disease.

1. Develop risk model for cardiovascular health in women.
2. Discuss cardiovascular conditions that disproportionately affect women.
3. Management of chest pain and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) in women.
4. Assess cardio obstetric risk factors and management in women.
5. Discuss with patients about hormone replacement therapy and cardiovascular impact.

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 2.25 IPCE credits for learning and change.
